Entry 03/04/2008 01:28:13 PM – Mentat 392

     Primary Day…
And I forgot to write in for my Write-in Vote.  Not that I wanted to given that Primary Day routinely sets your Party Denomination for the Elections in November, given that this year I do want to remain Independent/Libertarian and vote for Nader (instead of my usual write-in votes fore either Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Mickey Mouse, Mighty Mouse, or Astroboy).  Don’t worry folks — I’m not one to talk about politics — so you don’t have to brace (or polarize) yourself into thinking that Michael’s about to get up on a soapbox about it.  I won’t.  *grinning* I don’t need or want to be putting on the asbestos undies to protect me from incoming political flames.
Although going out with my aunt today so that she can vote, and then going out to the store to pick a couple of needed groceries up, I have to say that New England weather has once again surprised me.  Right now it’s in the upper 50s and balmy as hell.  I was also watching all the snow that we had gotten a couple of weeks ago melting away to nothing.  Heh…  Of course, I don’t know why I’m all excited over the prospect that this might be the end of the cold snap that we get here — no doubt that next week — we’ll probably be back into the teens with negative wind chills.  *eye roll*

Had a conversation with my aunt yesterday about the craziness that my Uncle Armand continues to inflict on the family, which had prompted a dream about confronting him about it last night.  My Aunt, while understanding in her head the immaturity of my Uncle, can’t for the life of her understand in her heart why he’s acting the way that he’s been acting since Christmas.  So once again, I tried to explain to her the childishness of his ways.  Maybe this time, she won’t be taking on hurt that’s not hers to be taking on to begin with.
As for the dream, it was a simple one.  It was at some sort of family gathering that I had showed up at.  When he saw me, he gave me one of his infamous pissy, passive-aggressive looks that he makes when he’s "not happy" with someone.  I watched him for a couple of minutes, before I walked up to him and said, "You know uncle…  The reason why I’ve been ignoring you has to do with the psychotic way you acted on the phone in August.  I’m not your son, and I’m not going to stop everything I’m doing to answer whatever calls you put out to me because you want an instantaneous answer…"
His eyes flared when I said this, but before he could say anything in response, I woke up and rolled over.
Apparently that’s something that needed to be said in my head as well.  Whether I actually say it in writing, or vis-à-vis remains to be seen.

Had a fun couple of days with D over in Yahoo and MSN Messenger Games.  Now that he’s feeling better since he caught himself some sort of stomach virus the other week, he’s either been passing out early, or simply not having enough energy to want to do anything other than lay there, or run to the bathroom because whatever he’s eaten, he couldn’t keep down.  Was a load of fun playing Pool and Dominoes yesterday, as the two of us being competitive by nature — turned simple games like that into gladiatorial competitions.  If anyone were listening to us during this game playing, they would clearly think us completely nuts.  Hell, there were moments when I thought the same thing *grinning*, but that’s just me being sort of self-conscious about it — if only for a brief period of time.
D getting sick is like watching my friend Julia getting sick.  High fevers, long bouts of fighting whatever virus, and pretty quick convalescences.  At least I’ve got the experience in dealing with it, which means that I’m not going to act like some chicken with my head cut off while he’s sick as a dog.  He was pretty surprised at how calm I was handling what he believed was a cranky attitude.  I told him that Julia was pretty much the same sometimes, so I knew what to expect.

Not too much else to write about at the moment.  I could go into further details as to some of the antics that I’ve been pulling in Yahoo Chat, but they’re not worthy of that attention at the moment.  Maybe another day.

     Until the next time.
