Entry 03/04/2009 09:10:28 AM – Mentat 488

03/04/2009
I am struck speechless at the moment at the end of a great evening.  It’s like finding myself floating someplace between heaven and earth, where I’m not quite grounded, and at the same time not flying through the stratosphere of other-worldly feelings….  It’s like for one brief moment this evening, finding myself talking with a gentleman I hadn’t quite expected to be chatting with — I was simply Michael the man.  Not Michael the Computer Geek Extraordinaire.  Or Michael the Sagely old Queer; who’s survived on his wits and wisdom since Table-Dancing at the Last Supper.  Simply…  Me.  Strengths and weaknesses…  Self-consciousness and self-confidence.  Naked and Armed…  Selfish and Selfless…  All simultaneously.
That with this conversation, everything else this evening just continued to seem to click.  Music to inspire, that got the heart racing and the blood flowing…  And Apo….  Well, Apo producing things that left me wondering, was it producing based on my mood, or the music and conversation going on while it was happily chugging away on the desktop?  I have never been one to believe that my personal/emotional state affecting the silicon circuits and resistors of my machines — even though several people tell me that they’ve experienced mechanical breakdowns when I was annoyed or mad with them.  But it certainly raised questions with me this morning as I’m getting ready for bed and perhaps sown enough doubt in me to think — maybe…  Just maybe these friends and acquaintances might just be right.

I’m going to part this entry with one of the many songs that I’ve heard tonight that in their playing certainly brought a smile to my lips as I get ready for bed, and keep a promise I had made in passing that I feel happily duty-bound to keeping (regardless of its outcome).

Do you see what I see
A rainbow shining over us
In the middle of a hopeless storm, oh

Sometimes I’m blinded by my feelings
And I can’t see beyond my troubled mind
Afraid of what I’ll find, the story of our lives
But there’s tomorrow

‘Cause I’m free, I’m free
And things are only as important as I want them to be
We’ll have a breath of sunshine
When the rain goes away I pray, I pray, yeah

Do you need a friend right now
On the road that you’re going to
If you get lost just call me, I’ll be there
Yes I’ll be right there

‘Cause though I may not have the answers
At least I know what I’m looking for
Yes, I can do without sorrow
There’s a day after tomorrow
So I’m leaving it behind

I’m free, I’m free
Things are only as important as I want them to be
We’ll have a breath of sunshine
When the rain goes away I pray, I pray

I’m free, I’m free
Things are only as important as I want them to be
We’ll have a breath of sunshine
When the rain goes away I pray, I pray, baby

And if you want to share my dreams
Well all you have to do is say it, say it
Let me hear you loud and clear
‘Cause I need you if you wanna be, if you wanna be

Do you see what I see
A rainbow shining over us
In the middle of a hopeless storm
We’ll be safe and warm

I’m free, I’m free
Things are only as important as I want them to be
We’ll have a breath of sunshine
When the rain goes away I pray, I pray

I’m free, I’m free
Things are only as important as I want them to be
We’ll have a breath of sunshine
When the rain goes away I pray, I pray
